Singapore is a country situated in the south part of Asia, one of the smallest countries in the world, but by far one of the most exciting.
I really had no expectations of Singapore before I visited and I was shocked at how much there is to see and do! I spent 4 nights in Singapore and crammed in a lot. In this blog post I will share with you my recommendations on things to do and my thoughts on the iconic Marina Bay Sands resort.
Here is a link to my playlist of travel vlogs and guides that I created on youtube.

- Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore
First things first you are going to need to sort out accommodation. Singapore its one of the most expensive cities I’ve visited and I can understand why! it is damn right beautiful.
Now I did both ends of accommodation I stayed in a budget hostel and I also stayed in a 5 star hotel. It is very easy to get around using the MRT in Singapore but I would recommend staying close to the Bay Area. The Bay area is where most of the attractions and activities are based.
I spent my first few nights in Singapore staying in a budget hostel which I found on Hostelworld.com. The hostel is called Quarter's capsule hostel, Singapore. It was overall very good with their amenities. As someone who regularly stays in hostel's when traveling, one thing I like is a clean and comfy bed, this hostel certainly delivered on that.
If you are coming to Singapore I would highly recommend splurging and staying in the 5 star resort Marina Bay Sands Hotel. I paid £220 for 1 nights accommodation. ( I booked directly on Marina Bay Sands Hotel website as they had the most competitive price)
Marina bay sands is in the south of Singapore overlooking both the Bay and harbour area. It is pretty central to where everything is.
The room includes the price for breakfast which was classy buffet style. A lot of travellers I have met will choose to stay here but split the cost between 1/2 others which makes it affordable. I feel overall staying in Marina Bay Sands is not just a place to sleep but a complete experience.

An important thing to consider is that only guests of the hotel have access to the famous infinity pool. The great thing about staying in this hotel is you can request to check in from 12pm and check out is at 11am. That is nearly a full 24 hours, I would recommend spending the full day in the hotel, going to the gym, chilling by the pool and eating at one of the 45 restaurants in the resort.

A suggested itinerary of things to do can be found below

- Universal studios, Singapore - I love a theme park, I think they are fun and exciting places. Having visited Universal studios in Florida, USA I couldn't help but compare the two. I have to say I had a lot of fun but I only stayed half the day as the park is quite small. Tickets were inexpensive and I bought these from my hostel reception for around S$50. It is in the area of Sentosa which is easily accessible by MRT in Singapore.
- Team Lab art museum, Singapore - This is a light art museum which blew my mind. It is a permanent museum that is situated around the bay area opposite the Marina Bay shopping centre. I would spend around 1 hour going through the different rooms, try and visit with someone as there are some cool photo spots throughout the museum.
- Spectra, light show - This is a light show that happens in the bay area usually every night and it is completely free to watch. Unfortunately I believe it is not currently on at the moment due to restrictions put in place by the pandemic.

-Gardens by the bay - A must see for any visit to Singapore is the Gardens by the Bay. There is plenty of attractions within this part of Singapore. I would suggest spending several hours here. I did the following activities which are all bookable either online or in person: Cloud forest, treetop walk and the Gardens by the bay light show.
There is so many more things you could do in Singapore, I have only recommended things to do that I have personally done myself and would do again. If you love shopping, Singapore is also great for that as there are so many shopping centres.

One place to eat that blew my mind was Black tap restaurant, I did eat dinner there one night their burgers are unreal ! You need to have a milkshake from Black tap because they are crazy good, I chose a black and white Oreo vegan milkshake, I couldn’t finish it but I gave it a good try.
One last thing you of course need to do is visit the Merlion a famous landmark near One Fullterton Singapore.
